Acts 9:31 (KJV): Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
Interesting how a stage of growth came during a time of relative peace. No doubt the earlier trials had a purifying and refining effect on the Church.
Yesterday I watched a video with someone pointing out that Kamala Harris's saying "I think you guys are at the wrong rally" to the "Jesus is King" yellers was very telling in light of Matthew 12:34: "for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh."
Harris frequently has trouble articulating a coherent and nontrivial sentence, but that one came right out.
Today I randomly opened my Bible to Matthew 12. Matthew 12:34 is followed by warnings in verses 36 and 37 that we are going to have to give account for "every idle word".
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom."
The vile person shall no more be called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful. (KJV)
It goes on to say that these people are malicious hypocrites who will be exposed by their wicked deeds.
Verse 8 : But the liberal deviseth liberal things, and by liberal things shall he stand.
